Sharjah realized early on the significance of laying a strong foundation for supporting women and girls and paving the way for their partnership and participation in the emirate’s development and prosperity. This was marked by the establishment of the Al Montazah Club under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. The Club set out a comprehensive cultural and recreational programme, in addition to sports, and saw an impressive footfall of women and girls of all age groups.This set the right base for the establishment of the Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) which has since reinforced women’s outstanding presence in Sharjah’s development landscape.
Sharjah Ladies Club was established in 1982 as a premier destination offering a variety of educational and recreational facilities designed exclusively for women and children, where luxury and recreation are perfectly intertwined.
Moreover, a variety of events and activities are hosted throughout the year to promote and support causes related to society, arts, and health, including CSR initiatives, exhibitions, marathons, seminars, and workshops.
The Club is also one of many organizations run under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council.
Sharjah Ladies Club has joined the Sharjah Hospitality Group, an entity established in 2025 under the umbrella of the Sharjah Family and Community Council.
The group focuses on developing and managing hospitality, leisure, and wellness destinations that promote wellbeing, strengthen community connection, and support cultural enrichment across the Emirate of Sharjah.
