Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club, the tenth edition of the Sharjah Ladies Run concluded successfully on February 15 at Al Seyouh Ladies Park in the Emirate of Sharjah. The event witnessed wide participation from women and girls, emphasizing its position as one of the most significant women’s events in the emirate.
The run attracted more than 300 participants from different nationalities, enhancing its cultural inclusivity and reinforcing its reputation as a beacon of diversity. Emirati women made a strong presence in the race and represented over 50% of the participants.
The impressive number of young girls above 12 years old who participated in the race reflected the growing awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation. This is a testament to the positive impact that the Sharjah Ladies Run had over the past nine years, which is inspiring future generations.
The 5 km race concluded with an exciting awards ceremony, where the winners in various categories were celebrated. The first-place winner Latifa Chellaoui, followed by in second place Nuraiym Erkebaeva and Latifa Essarokh in third place.
Additionally, three special prizes were presented to the top Emirati participants in the 5km category: Ruqayya Almarzooqi, Hessa Al Jassmy, and Fatima Alshamsi. In total, AED 36,000 in cash prizes were distributed. Additionally, all winners were rewarded with gifts provided by the event sponsors.
This success was highlighted by H.E Khawla Al Serkal, Director General of Sharjah Ladies Club, who stated: " This year, we celebrated '10 Trips Around the Sun,' striving to create an exceptional experience. Thanks to the esteemed patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club, along with the generous support of our sponsors, we turned this vision into reality. We concluded this edition with pride and remain committed to our mission, driven by our strategic plans. We will continue creating opportunities that inspire women and young girls to adopt a healthy lifestyle and engage in sports events throughout the year."
She continued, "In line with the '2025 as the Year of Community initiative', the Club is proud to contribute to achieving this year’s goals by supporting social responsibility initiatives. As part of the Sharjah Ladies Run, we dedicated tickets for students from Al Qasimia University to raise awareness about health and fitness. Additionally, the event supported the ‘Pledge A Library’ initiative launched by Kalimat Foundation, with the Club purchasing products by Emirati artist Mohammed Al Mansouri and presenting them as prizes to the winners, with proceeds benefiting the initiative. The event also featured a dedicated space for the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation to engage with the participants and showcase their services."
Beyond the race, the event was filled with diverse activities, offering a variety of services to meet the needs of all participants, including fitness sessions, massages, and beauty care services. Participants enjoyed healthy and varied meal options from "Lafeef Restaurant" and other participating food vendors, making the event a truly memorable experience.
The Club also extended its gratitude and recognition to the sponsors who played a pivotal role in making the event a success, including Crescent Petroleum (Main Sponsor(, Sharjah Sports Council and AGMC (Gold Sponsors), Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Silver sponsor), and Prime Medical Center (Bronze Sponsor). The event also benefited from the collaboration with various institutions, such as The Representative Office of MOHAP Sharjah, and UAE Modern Pentathlon Federation.
In collaboration with its strategic partners, the event received vital support from Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, which organized “Get Set” initiative training program for participants before the race. The program featured free health assessments and expert nutritional guidance, reinforcing the Foundation’s goal of empowering women and promoting physical activity in the community.
