Sharjah Ladies Club launched a special programme on 27 August in celebration of Emirati Women’s Day and the achievements of Emirati women, under this year’s theme, “We Emerge Stronger and Better.” The opening brought together women for a series of activities, workshops, and experiences dedicated to Emirati women.
The programme featured a “Financial Literacy” Lecture in collaboration with Emirates Islamic Bank, highlighting the importance of financial awareness in building confidence and supporting informed financial decision-making. It also included a Safifa Bookmark Making Workshop presented by Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, introducing participants to one of the UAE’s cultural crafts.
The programme also featured an Aromatic Tea Preparation workshop and a coffee-making workshop in collaboration with Youth Councils, alongside an exclusive session titled “Damas Secrets” in collaboration with Damas, offering participants engaging opportunities to interact and benefit from a variety of experiences.
Celebrations will continue until the 28th of September, with activities, workshops, experiences, and special offers across the Club’s facilities, covering wellness, beauty, fitness, and creativity.
Commenting on the occasion, H.E. Shaikha Al Suwaidi, Director of Sharjah Ladies Club, said: “Emirati Women’s Day is an occasion to celebrate Emirati women and their achievements, as well as a journey defined by dedication and ambition. This year, we were keen to create a diverse programme that reflects the interests of Emirati women and provides them with opportunities for learning, creativity, and wellbeing, positively contributing to their mental and physical health and supporting them in raising a promising future generation.”
In the main branch, members and visitors can benefit from a range of special offers and discounts, including annual membership offers, while Orchid Beauty Boutique and Dalouk Wellness Spa offer beauty and wellness packages. Fitness 180° also offers a selection of fitness classes, including complimentary Pilates classes for women aged 60 and above, in appreciation of their contributions and to encourage them to maintain their health and fitness at every stage of life. Lafeef Restaurant is also marking the occasion with special hospitality and a creative corner in collaboration with Collage Talent Cente and Basateen Preschool Center.
Collage Talent Center is also offering creative workshops, including a resin stone tray design workshop and a stained-glass art workshop.
The celebrations extend across Sharjah Ladies Club’s eight branches. Khorfakkan Branch will host a panel discussion titled “Emirati Women: The Heartbeat of the Family and Makers of the Future,” while Dibba Al Hisn Branch will present a session titled “Women: Inspiring the Present and Shaping the Future,” alongside a productive families’ corner and complimentary health screenings.
Al Hamriyah, Wadi Al Hilo, Al Dhaid, Al Mudam, and Al Bataeh branches will also host art and heritage workshops, competitions, raffle draws, gifts, and special fitness and beauty offers.
The programme brings together several organisations and partners, including Sharjah Old Cars Club and Youth Councils alongside several sponsors. Emirates Islamic joins as the Gold Sponsor, while Oasis Livestock “Zabehaty App,” Medcare, Damas, Genim Store, and Flormar participate as Silver Sponsors, contributing through workshops, sessions, gifts, and special offers.
