Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) is ensuring a summer full of entertainment as well as education for the community’s youngest members, with the UAE’s dedicated club for women and children running a programme of summer camps for children in the months of July and August.
Taking place at three locations of the SLC, the summer camps will feature artistic, educational as well as physical activities that have been carefully selected for the hot summer months. The schedule has been designed to gainfully use the free time of children aged 3-16 during their summer school break.
Alya Al Harmoudi, Head of Business Management at SLC, said: “Summer is this season of the year were parents find themselves at a loss of finding ways to engage children in physical activities, programs and projects that can be of benefit for the child’s skills and time. Our camps are a very efficient method to detach children from the time spent on digital devices, TV screens and online games since it seems to be the most common and accessible way for children to stay busy at home, especially when parents are at work. To help overcome this issue, Sharjah Ladies Club has organized and designed the Mushmis Summer Camp which consists of educational and recreational activities that reflect on the child’s wellbeing in terms of developing not only their physical skills but also their constructive thinking. Our key objective in this endeavor is to keep children and youngsters engaged and occupied in discovering new aspects of their personalities through a series of art and educational projects to stimulate their creativity and critical thinking but in a fun environment. In addition to the variety of sports activities like ice skating, swimming, beach and water sports and many more”.
Seeking to educate as well as entertain, the camps include art workshops, craft sessions, dance and exercise classes as well as fun trips. All camps will run from July 7 to August 29, 2019.
